After the 2-2 draw against Torino in the opening round of the Serie A 2024/25 season, AC Milan is determined to secure all three points against Parma this weekend.
Coach Paulo Fonseca is making significant changes to address the mistakes from the Torino match. The two goals conceded were the result of serious individual errors: Davide Calabria had a poor performance and faced criticism, while Malick Thiaw was described as “shocking.” Consequently, Fonseca’s top priority is to strengthen Milan’s defense, with new signings Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic expected to start, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
In addition to the defense, the midfield will also see changes, with French midfielder Youssouf Fofana making his debut. Fofana is the fourth signing for AC Milan this summer, following Alvaro Morata, Strahinja Pavlovic, and Emerson Royal. With his enduring stamina, Fofana is expected to make the midfield more dynamic and robust.
With Morata injured, Fonseca is considering a “crazy idea”: Rafael Leao could replace Morata in the central attacking role. Given the team’s abundance of wingers, Leao could play as a pure striker, with Christian Pulisic or Okafor on the left wing.
